Is any one here running 32" tires with 4.10 Gears w/Limited slip in their Explorer. I have a 5-speed and this is the set up I want to go with. Let me Know Pros and Cons of doing this...

My truck has the metric equivalent of 32" tires (LT265/75/R16) with 4.10 gears and it runs great with that combo. I dont have a LS but that shouldnt affect anything. I have plenty of power and the RPMS stay around 2500 at highway speeds in fifth gear. Btw, I have a 5 speed manual. Hope this helps.

Kris,

I'm also running LT265/75/16 tires with 4.10 gears and a 5spd. I have a Auburn posi in the rear and a ARB in the front. So far this setup has worked well for me with no complaints. Oh yeah, I'm still getting 18-22 average mpg.

Kris,
I am Also Running BFG 265/75/r16's with 4.10 gears but with an Automatic Tranny. I also have plenty of power and the RPMS stay around 2500 at highway speeds also. The only other thing I have Noticed is my Tranny is starting to Slip, but the tranny has 62,000 miles on it, and i just changed the tranny oil when it started to slip(its still slipping after I changed the oil). Does Anyone know if this is common?

I'm running 32x11.5x15 with 4.10 and an automatic transmission. It is the gearing equivalent of 3.73 and 235/75/15 on my EB before any mods. I had the OEM LS but have switched over to the PowerTrax No-Slip locker. It did not have any problem with the LS in terms of power of performance and does not have any problem with the locker now.

Thanks For all the Help.

I am Going to go with the 4.10 gears. I got a hold of a great mechanic that is going to do the labor for me at a great price... You have to love having the hook up with a smart mechanic...

Kris think about 4.56's...

I went from 3.55's to 4.10's and wish I would've gone with 4.56's because I plan on running 33's when I wear out my 31's. The 4.10's are great for 31's but... sometimes excess is best put the limits to the test!
