Question, getting ready to go to 35's on a 97 X. Using the correct gear would I somewhat keep good gas milage? What gear should be used 4.88's?

V6 auto 97 explorer...

4.56 or 4.88.

and whats gas milage should I expect?

v6 stock....

What do you get know, and what gears you have?

If you want to keep closer to stock gas milage, I'd go with 4.56s. Mine are just right. If you plan on more trail riding I'd go with 4.88s, but with the auto you will be reving pretty good on the highway.

great info thanks guys! seems like 4.56's will be..

Yeah, with a fresh V6 and an auto 4.56s will be perfect. I have 4.56s with 33s and it's too low even with an old worn out v6 (220 K). I still can't spin the tires unless I'm leaning to one side around a corner but I attribute that to the old engine, on the highway its reving pretty high.
