Check the axel code:D Its on a tag on the rear end and inside the drivers door:)

All it says on the inside of the door for axle is D4?? Does anyone know how 4:10 gears are on the highway?? Whats the top speed?? Do you also have to change the front axle gears too???

You have a limited slip 3.73:D

Yes, if you have 4x4 (and still want to use it) you need to change the gears in both differentials. 3.73s are a good middle-ground gear for stock tires. No use going to 4.10s, not enough difference for the money.

1991 Explorers factory gear ratios...let me see...

3.08 pretty common on 91's
3.27 common on 1st gens
(3.55) not sure
3.73
4.10 rare on 91's
