Hello,
I had a roof wrap on my previous car and I wanted to try something different on my '14 Explorer. I started looking for some pictures on the internet of what I was looking for but I couldn't really find anything so I went the Old School route. Open with PAINT.
This is what I came up with

These covers pull straight off. Then remove the roof racks with an 8mm socket.

The center supports are just slotted tabs. Slide the rail towards the front of the truck and it comes off. Then remove this bolt with same 8mm socket.

Nice look but I'm going to put them back on.

Lay out the vinyl. Trace and cut. grab your heat gun and get to work.

Now the front. I have the rails back on because I did this the next day. That green tape is called Knifeless tape. It's great stuff for cutting on the painted surface of the car. Look it up on youtube.

And then I did the rear wing using the same Knifeless tape.

Pretty easy mod with about $65 in materials including the knifeless tape,6 hrs, and a lot of patience.
Thanks,

Looks great! Finish it off by completing the roof and rear spoiler.

Thanks, I might do the roof later. For now I'm gonna ride it like this for a while

Really looks great. Nice job.

... for us leakers, did you take pics any under the rail feet?
I know at least I'm interested to know what it looks like under those 2 mounting bolts.
The front pics under the rail cover are very informative.

That looks freaking great. I would like to do something similar to my Sport

Could you take some more pics from the side for a full view as well as some corner shots?
Great look, I think this is my next mod.

Its really just some threaded slugs. Ill take them of again and take some pics. No biggie.

Thanks. Ill put some up later this weekend.

Looks good but too much like the style of the Flex IMO... Good job

Thanks so much for the additional pics!

Could you possibly post a couple of pics with the doors open. Would like t see how you wrapped the vinyl into the door jambs, or did you cut it flush? Looks great by the way!!!

That really looks good! I like the silver roof contrasting with the black.

Maybe consider keeping the roof racks silver and painting the rest of the assembly silver as well? Or maybe convert to a slick top?

Here are some pics with the doors open.

Looks good! Has anyone else done this? I'm thinking about having my sport painted like this.
