Hello,
I had a roof wrap on my previous car and I wanted to try something different on my '14 Explorer. I started looking for some pictures on the internet of what I was looking for but I couldn't really find anything so I went the Old School route. Open with PAINT.
This is what I came up with
These covers pull straight off. Then remove the roof racks with an 8mm socket.
The center supports are just slotted tabs. Slide the rail towards the front of the truck and it comes off. Then remove this bolt with same 8mm socket.
Nice look but I'm going to put them back on.
Lay out the vinyl. Trace and cut. grab your heat gun and get to work.
Now the front. I have the rails back on because I did this the next day. That green tape is called Knifeless tape. It's great stuff for cutting on the painted surface of the car. Look it up on youtube.
And then I did the rear wing using the same Knifeless tape.
Pretty easy mod with about $65 in materials including the knifeless tape,6 hrs, and a lot of patience.
Thanks,
