I have decided that I am going to 4.56 gears, I am pretty sure I am going with the Powertrax no-slip after many many reccomendations and reviews from everyone, I need to know what all I will need besides the basic install kit, to do this. I have 3.73's and a trac-loc now, do I need a Carrier, or anything special for the C-clips? I am going to have a coworker install it all, he has done many rearends, frontends, gear installs so I think that should be fine, I just want to make sure I have EVERYTHING to do it all at once. Do to lack of funds and being unsure of the pros and cons the front will remain open, just have the gears installed.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Marshall, do a search, I think Perry has a No_Slip with the 4.56s they may have had to grind the cross shaft or some teeth, I dont remember, but its on the boards somewhere.

I believe you can get a no-slip to fit the L/s case, or you can get the No-Slip with its own carrier., contact powertrax for the correct numbers

I am in the same situation. I think it may be a better idea to lock the front first. The rear can be accessed by removing the cover where the front needs to be completely torn apart. I plan on running a Detroit True-Trak up there and locking the rear later. Good luck, just my 2 cents

update
DAMN lockers are high $$$$$ can I use the Traclock thats with the 3.73s I have now as the carrier for the 4.56's or due I have to buy a new carrier? I am going to leave the front open for now, and I need to know this so I can order my gears so anyone PLLLLEEEASSSSEEEE! Help me!

Ok well here is my new dilema I am looking at a lockrite now since the no slip is so damn high. I have read and I think it is ture, I just want to confirm, that I will need a new carrier. I have the trackloc now with 3.73's so what do I need?

SOMEBODY ANYBODY HHHHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPP ME!

Quit Whinning and Begging!!!! It makes you look bad.

I still think you need to go with the no-slip. It is fall and you won't be four wheeling as much as you did in the summer so save the money and do the gears and locker when you can afford the no-slip.

The next big run for you is in Cal. if you go or Moab in May so you should be able to get the money by then. Don't get in a hurry and get something you won't like.

If you have questions email Powertrax. They are really helpful and get back to you in a decent amount of time. I can't remember the guys name I emailed.

Remember you get what you pay for and I know yours is still street driven so go with the no-slip.

Ok I called Randys R&P today for some prices, this was before Perry's email, and before I thought, so it includes the lock rite price:

8.8gears(4.56) 179.00 plus 61.66 for bearings(install kit)
Dana 35RR(4.56) 215.00 plus 93.84 for install kit
Lock Right 233.83 plus 24.15 for notched 7/8 cross pin

total 807.48 for everything delivered to my work this is suppose to be at jobber cost for where I work. I thought it seemed really high, the gears are made by Yukon gear.
What do you guys think of these prices?

When Steve put my locker and gears in he had to grind two teeth down just alittle. I saw them before he put everything back together and it wasn't much at all. One you could hardly even see. I don't know if you need that fancy pin or not. If your friend has done lots of gears he shouldn't have any trouble.

I still say wait until you can do the no-slip. You will thank me later, trust me!!!

The one thing I do know is DON'T DO ANYTHING OR GRIND ON THE PIN!!!!

so other than the lock right do these prices sound fair?
