Gen 2 Limited front bumper questions

I've been wanting to put a limited front bumper on my '97 Sport, but I'm not sure what I need to do it? Looking at the bumpers, it almost looks like it's just a cover that goes over the existing steel bumper that the other Explorers get...is this correct? The foglights look to be in the same spot which supports my theory.

I need to know whether it is just a cover or not( I know you can buy just the cover, but I don't know if it just fits right onto my bumper). If it's not a cover, then what do I need to go with it (ie. bumper, mounts, etc...) Thanks.

It should be a direct bolt on, you simply remove your bumper and install the limited version.

Right, but your missing my questions, is it just a cover, or a steel bumper made for the limited cover? I know as far as the mounting to the frame is concerned, it would be no different, but I'm trying to find out what the limited bumper consists of.

They don't make a steel bumper for the limited.. I believe its a plastic bumper.. Kind of like the ones on the 99-01 bumpers.

It has a metal type frame backing. It will fit, bolts up to the frame with 4 bolts.

Thanks, that's what I'm trying to figure out, places that I've seen it for sale list it as a cover, which probably means that the backing you speak of isn't included. So the backing you're talking about also houses the fog lights as well?

Yes there are two brackets that are bolted to this that hold the fog lights.

The place I'm looking at now wants about $150 for a "'95-'98 w/limited" bumper, sound like it has everything?
