Okay guys a while back there was a Gen I Explorer from Perry's converted to a new edge style front clip.

Where is the picture??

I picked up a gen II 96 that needs a new front body.
I am looking into my options, I dont want to go withthe same old 96 front end, I am looking at limited, mountaineer, Mazda front clips (b4000), sport trac body panels, bumper covers, fiberglass fenders, even Gen 3 conversions :)
But first I want to see that yellow Explorer they converted to the Ranger Edge style front clip, or any other conversions you guys know of or have done with your Gen 2 grills, fascia, bumpers, etc......

Give me some idea's! I figure if I am going to replace it, mine as well customize it :)

Ahhh that is sick! I wonder if I can get this kit for a Gen II or if this Ford front clip will fit a gen II...anyone?

the front clip of a 01-04 sport/01-05 sport trac is ideantical and will bolt up to a 95-01.

i really like the look of the 95-98 limiteds front end. clean simple and looks great IMO. just an idea.

That is so SICK!! Do it!!

go for an 01 mounty i love they headlight/ grill on that truck and if i had the $$ I would do the conversion to my first gen but dont really feel like having it painted to match after lol. after looking on ebay for parts it would be just about 800$ bes i can figure if im not leaving anything out prob tack on another 100 cause i couldnt find radiator support.

the 01 Mounty and the limites are alos in the running, I love the mercuries.

The truck this is for is a 96 Gen II, so I dnot have to mess withthe fiberglass conversion pieces.......

That would be sweet looking. Good luck

People are going to be doing double takes big time if I put a Sport trac front clip on a gen II 4 door Ex :)

that's gonna be a bit pricey though. according to the link that Doug gave, $700

$700 is for the Gen I to Sport Trac fiberglass conversion, with buldged fenders.

I am looking to bolt factory ford metal to my Gen II, but finding a front clip on a totalled Sport Trac could be a challenge :)
