1. I replaced the brake master cylinder on Saturday. I bench bled before installing. Was able to open and bleed the front calipers. When I got to the rears, I couldn't open either the left or the right bleeders. I sprayed a solvent on them on Thursday and again on Friday. No dice...... The pedal feels good. It's firm with limited pedal travel. I'll be doing the "right" thing and replacing both wheel cylinders in the near future. I've always bled the lines. I was told that unless there is a massive leak somewhere in the lines, the air will "work itself" out. Fact of fiction? I think fiction.

2. My other maintenance job was to replace wires, plugs, cap & rotor. It's a 2.9 and to my surprise the plugs are not too difficult to get. The cap & rotor on the other hand are buried right next to the firewall on the center rear of the motor. I'm not sure I can remove the cap even with the ignition wires removed. This doesn't sound right but the same person told me that I have to remove the upper intake. Any ideas/comments/tricks on this one?
Thanks.....

If the air can get out, the fluid can get out. Brakes are totally sealed.

For #2 , I don't see much info for Rangers around here and am not knowledgeable myself. I would think you should be able to remove it without much fuss.
