getting a 2003 explorer

Hi, I'm getting a 2003 explorer XLT later today.

It's got no codes or dash lights on and everything seems to work perfectly, are there any hidden problems I should look for?


Yes, it does have the cracked tailgate. Duct tape?

It's got the v6. I had the same engine in a 2003 ranger a few years ago, powerful and very thirsty.

4x4 didn't work at first, the 4x4 GEM was unplugged from the dealer changing the blend door out. Everyone was really confused because the codes made no sense at all.

No codes in any subsystem now

Absolutely everything works, engine sounds very healthy even when first started, transmission goes into all five gears and locks down at a reasonable speed

4x4 engages automatically and with the push button

Not one bit of rust on the entire vehicle

Only problem is the headlights look like a drunken mad man aimed them, one points straight down the other straight up, I twisted the adjustment screws a bit and they seem to work fine, so I'll fix it later

Also needs new spark plugs, not surprised.
