Hi all, sad to say I have decided to get rid of my 2002 explorer after 15 years of ownership at 273,000 miles. The transmission started flairing between 2nd-3rd gears and bought myself a new vehicle. Wondering what the best option for selling is, and if i could get above scrap prices.
The rocker panels are pretty much rotted out, but the exterior is still immaculate, no visible rust/scratches/clear coat failure. Interior is pretty mint too aside from some sun fading on the upper door panel plastics.
I put a rebuilt rear differential in about 40k miles ago, as well as a partial rebuild on the motor (timing chains/guides, oil pump, all gaskets and seals, water pump etc.) Still starts on a dime and runs very well aside from the transmission issues.
Thanks for any input, and anyone on the forums here who helped me keep this running for as long as it has.
EDIT: Not really willing to go through the hassle of parting the vehicle out, scrap value is at $340
