well im tired of my kicker compcvr12's not to mention the rubber surround on one is ripped..

so im redoing the sub part of my system

looking to spend up to 200$ (YEAH I KNOW BUT IM ON A TIGHT BUDGET)

this probably means ill be going from 2 subs down to one...

whats my best shot..
i was thinking a type r maybe..
or a memphis m3

oh and my amps 1600w rms @ 1 ohms...1100w rms @ 2 ohms

any particular brands you do , or do not like ??

did you look at ebay , or craigslist, ?

Not raelly anything specific just something with good quality and that's loud.. I guess I'm leaning toward a type r right now

if you put 1100w to a type r, you are gonna have that sub for like 3 seconds before its toast. you can put 1100w to a type x and it would sound great. i would look for one of those instead.

yeah I know that's my drawback

for $50 more you could get a Audioque HDC3 shipped to your door it is rated at 1000 watts but i have seen people put more to them

polk is pretty good for cheap my friend had a polk db i think (somethin like that)

Type R's are underrated if you know what your doing. I gave a Type R 12" sub 1200 watts daily with no problems...Type Rs are beasts. Great all around subs.

But with a little overrated 1600 watts you should set the gain with an oscilloscope and DMM unless you are experienced.

well its not like i cant wire a 2 ohm dvc version to 4 ohms...
4 ohms is 550w rms so that'd be perfect..

and if it can really handle 1200w ill just get the 4 ohm dvc and wire it up to 2ohms

1200 watts is pushing...unless you really know what you are doing and know what to listen for...I would not recommend going much over the rated RMS power handling.

The Type R can still easily be smoked with a 500 watt rms amplifier.
