I am getting (as of this friday) a 1991 Ford Explorer sport and it does not have a sunroof. Since most places do not install them anymore and they have ribs on the roof I thought I would share with everyone that I found a place that does them and I am getting mine installed next month in Kirkland, Washington - Sunmark upholstery can do it and say that only a 20x32 manual roof will go in and not effect the ribs in the roof - Greg there has been installing them since 1980. So if you want one done where you live ask for a roof that size and it will work.. :-)

Asc - Automotive Sunroof company here in Vancouver said they could not do it because of the ribs in the roof - FYI

You don't really know how it will work till you get it done.
I don't understand what the attraction is. And it's not even power? Good luck with it. What are they charging you?

i installed my own for the cost of the sunroof out of an explorer from a wreckers and the 20 bucks in pl 2000, just make sure your good with a jigsaw

Well I have friends that will not let me near tools.. I cannot even take off a door panel. Their charge is 500 and in Vancouver there isn't any company that will do it. No one hardly installs sunroofs anymore, not even glass shops up here. They used to be plentiful but not now. I really want one in my sport and will pay to get it. He has put in over a hundred sunroofs in Explorers and it does come with a warranty.. I remember when sunroof's used to be installed for 199.00 but I guess those days are gone too. I did not want a power roof.

My point was I do see people asking from time to time ask how to get one or have on installed and I just wanted to share that a 20 x 32 roof will work - Fyi for those looking or have a shop near them that has never done a sunroof in an explorer (older one) before.
