First of all, I'm sorry to post two questions to the forum so close together.
This is my first explorer, and I'm trying to fix a few minor things.

With a lot of help from the forum, I successfully found the computer and got the manufacturer's keyless entry code, but it doesn't seem to work.

They keypad don't light when I touch it, but it does lock with 3&4.

I tried a to activate it by entering the code, holding 3&4 and pressing 7&8 twice. No luck, it just locks. I've also tried the opposite, (holding 7&8)

Anyone have any ideas? I would of thought it was a bad fuse, it it didn't lock.

Thanks.

Keypad itself could be bad. Does it light up if you press the 3/4 button first?

Just a quick correction:
It's the 4&5 I press to lock.

The answer is, no. They keypad does not light up when I press 4&5. The headlights do flash, though.
