Getting the Silverado ready to Haul...HELP????

Alright here's whatz going down, the dad has an 2000 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3lt V8 with the Z71 offroad/towing package, 4x4. He wants to haul a 7,000lb. trailer and the truck is rated for 7,800lbs. He wants to give himself a little bit more breathing room when hauling, so he can load the trailer. He wants to apply add ons to boost his towing capacity up or help his stability.

I wana know what ideas and any good sites to buy this stuff from.

What we've come up so far:
- air bags for the back leafs
- Free Flow Intake
- Free Flow Muffler
- Already got a a tranny cooler
- He wants to swap gears from 3.73 to 4.10

Thats all i can think of off the top of my head. Any help is greatly appreciated, I would like sites to visit to find some of this stuff and anything u think will help plz post. Thank you

Add a brake controller for the trailer brakes and a weight distribution hitch should help out as well. I have only flat towed a CJ7 with my Z71 and it did fine. However when I hauled a full pallet of sod in the bed the brakes were a little soft. Good luck with the tow.

yea, the hitch and breaks we know of, more or less the truck its self on how we can get it to haul and handle the weight better. Thank you though!!

Tranny temp gauge. You will need it for any kind of hill. Also, leave the 3:73's in there..... it will make towing out of overdrive nicer. With 4:10's and overdrive off, you will be revving like a Winston Cup car (unless he's running bigger tires on it). Also, its usually not worth the money to only go from 373 to 410. The helper bags make a big difference and work very well on half tons.
