I got a 93 EB, with 86k on. I need to replace the stocker. I heard wonderful things about both systems, but i'm not looking for too much sound. So i wonderin which is louder, gibson or flowmaster?
I have a '93 Explorer with a series 40 Flowmaster on it with one pipe going straight out the back. It's pretty loud but the power gain is unbelieveable. Flowmaster just came out with a Delta series muffler that has the same performance gains with a lot less noise. If I was looking for max power w/minimum sound the delta series muffler is what I would go for. If you go to the flowmaster website (www.flowmastermufflers.com) you can ask for an information packet and they'll send it to you. Hope you find what you want.

I would check out Explorer Express. They make the x-spec turbo system which claims to deliver performance but is no louder than stock. I dunno, just a thought. www.explorerexpress.com

Joe,
I highly recommend the Delta Series 50 by Flowmaster that Brandon mentioned. I have one on my 95 with the exit just infront of the rear wheel. Great sound. Not too loud. Even my wife likes the sound! The only thing that would sound better would be a V8 under the hood! Try Summit. They had the muffler to me in 1.5 days and they had the best price around at the time.

B-Man,
I paid $165 for the series 40 muffler (the loudest one), 2.5" pipe going straight out the rear end below the bumper with a 3.5" chrome tip. The tip cost $15 and it makes the sound deeper. If you're going for the loudest, I would not go with dual exhaust, it seems to be a little quieter than one pipe like I have. Good luck

I have the Gibson and a friend has the Delta 50 Flowmaster. The Flowmaster has a crispy/rapsy tone whereas the Gibson is a little more mellow, deeper tone. At acceleration, the Flowmaster is definitely louder, at idle, the Gibson is louder.
