Hey my names Shaun, Born from Boston, I live on the South Shore, believe it or not there are places to crawl near the city. I spend alot of time racing sport compacts and tuning them, but I also spend an equal amount of time on my 1978 F-100, its one of the most reliable trucks i've ever owned, ontop of that i also have a 98 Jeep Cherokee (last year of the tucked in frame), for awhile it was my main 4x4, the L6 is just like the one in my F100, unstoppable, yeah the jeep is pretty much unstoppable itself, considfering there's billions of modifications that bolt on and blah blah, you all know, but i always got annoyed how most the novice off-roaders i met would say that my cherokee was the only truck with the capabilities it had, i alwasy corrected them, the First Generation Explorer had the same power and ruggedness as the jeep did, not to mention the interior was alot better, plus everyone and there grandma has a jeep or some sort and im sick of dealing with amatures (they buy a bunch of bolt-ons,slap em on and go without care). I've noticed the Explorer driver is a more rare breed of off-roader, because you cant jsut look in any mag and find a bunch of bolt-ons, you have to have know-how and skill to mod an explorer, not that it really needs it, and just to make sure, i didnt just switch from jeep to ford, i gave the cherokee to my mom, and i bought the 92 XLT, my grandfather bought a Eddie Bower brand new back in 91, he kept his in absolute PERFECT condition until he traded it in for a 98 Eddie Bower, which too is in Absolute perfect condition to this day, i wish i could have gotten the first one, but i found my own from a friend's dad, lol i bought it with cash the same day it was offered, i spent a few hours jsut sitting in the thing, thinking about what im going to do to it and with it, I love it, the only mods are new outlaw style rims on BF Goodrich's all around, and a new exhaust (performance, but not louder). The XLT was a commuter car, and will be for my ride to and from UTI, but it will also be my main 4x4, ill upgrade my account to elite and get some pictures up soon, i'm really glad i found a community for explorers, the vehicle that i beleave is for the true outdoorsman
and i loved em ever snce my grandpa got one back when i was young.....

Nice to have you

Hell yes the Ford Explorer also has stronger axles/frame/ everyhting on the Ford is beefy, Jeeps IMO are light duty in comparison.

Welcome
