Anyone know of GLASS replacement lenses for X headlites, as opposed to the Ford PLASTIC ones? Someone here once mentioned the X's Ford exported to Germany may have been glass, but there was no follow up. I have also seen aftermarket Glass replacement units for Mustangs and other fords that originally had plastic. With millions of X's on the road, no one makes these glass units? Anyone?

I was trying to chase these down for a while. I had a contact in Germany, who knew a guy, etc. IIRC, the lamps, with shipping, were going to come in somewhere around $400 to $500. The great benefit is that these lamps would take H-4 bulbs, not the crappy 9007s.

Unfortunately, it turned out that I needed a new roof on the house more.

I know nothin about all of this..but i was really wondering if there was somewhere where i could get new headlight lenses that didn't look like the crappy "dirty" lenses that are on mine...ya know, the kind with all the lines and **** in them...i wanna get some totally clear ones like on most new cars these days.

do a mountaineer grille and headlight swap

or else you can just clean yours as best you can. do a search on cleaning headlights and you should come up with some interesting methods.

Do mountianeers use glass lenses?

no, they have the new style lenses found on newer luxury cars. they look like jewelry instead of like a piece of plastic.

Problem is, MT grilles look horrible.

It is not that i want to clean my lenses...i want that clear looking headlight lenses on the newer cars. I don't think that Mountaineers had clear headlight lenses with my body style...and i don't like the grilles either...
