glass pack or 40 series flowmaster

looking to get a new muffler and ive herd a 40 series on a 4.0 shoc but i wana no if anyone has had a glass pack on one or if it sounds good?

Glass packs are going to sound like ass. 40 Series is really loud. Most OHC owners use the 50 series.

flowmaster all the way...if you like loud then go for a 40 the 40 delta is the equevelnt of a 50 and the 50 suv is fairly quiet but it still sounds nice and throaty.

Not only will glasspacks prolly sound like ass initially, but after a while they get even worse, as in louder and raspier, because the packing discinigrates (sp?). They dont last at all. Dont get them unless your on a serious budget.

i manage an exhaust shop & took out the cat. convertor & ran 2.5 inch from the y-pipe all the way out the back with a 2.25 inch walker dynomax super turbo part # 17731 & it sounds wicked. nice & deep & gets loud only when you really get on it

some factory cats do squat some are effective the engine has a little more to do with what comes out of the tail pipe then the cat.

yeah i think im just gonna cut out my muffler and weld in a 4o series and put a straight pipe where the resonator is

Yup

I would recommend just gettin the 40 and takin out the resonator...its sounds good enough. If you really want it to roar take advantage of both your cats and put on dual 40's. I did that and have them dumpin straight from the muffler and its great...and I can pass emissions
