When I first start my truck up (cold) the oil pressure doesn't show pressure till it warms up. Then it is (glitchy) not a word but you get the idea. Some times when I start it up it is fine pressure right away. Other times the needle is all over the gauge till the truck warms up. Thanks for looking.

Well, its probably either the sensor or the wiring. The sensor screws into the side of the engine, and isnt known to be the most reliable piece in the world. I had one that leaked oil on my mustang. The only wiring that goes to it is one plug that comes off of the end of it.

Is it a SOHC or 5.0?

I had a jumpy gauge after an oil change... I think it was just some dirt in the pipe. I few long runs later and it stopped...

what side and where

Its not a real gauge. It should only show no pressure or the normal pressure.

If its jumping around I'm guessing the pressure is right at the point where the sender decides on or off.

Mine on my 92 is horrible, some days its so low it scares me, other days its completely fine...well I should actually change days with "startups" lol

I know my oil is good, not leaking and clean so it goes in my left eye and out my right....haha
