When cold, esp. 1st start of the day, the oil pressure guage stays where it jumps to when you turn on the key. The motor has oil pressure, it seems to be something else. The guage jumps up to normal several minutes after engine has been running. Anyone else had this problem? or a suggestiopn where to start?

Thanks

Sometimes gunk and sludge clog the sender - its a tiny pinhole. Access can be a pain, but do a search, there are writeups about accessing the sender for replacement. If you chose to remove it, attach a real oil pressure gauge to actually check the motor. The "gauge" in the dash is really just an indicator that reads in the center when there is 6 or more psi, or at the bottom when there is less than 6psi.
