I lost one of my best friends today. The cost of repairing my 1993 4x4 5 speed stick shift broken down and the cost to repair is just too much. It only had 170k miles on it. If I had a place to store it, would I would put it up in blocks and look forward to restoring it in the future. Even had personal license plates DADSUV. Oh well. I have enjoyed reading the forum and am grateful for all the help that I have received in the past. Good luck to all.

Boo.. take out a personal loan or something if you have to, lol.

So what was the last straw? I'm guessing the tranny or engine died or something..?? Sorry man, I plan on keeping mine forever.. even if I start making 6 figures a year, I'll restore it to new if I ever have the money, lol. 205k+ so far :D

Sorry to hear it:( Maybe there will be another Explorer in your future;)

You're always welcome to stick around and chat. We have plenty of ex-Ex owners that are still here:chug:

Sorry to hear about your vehicle troubles.. :( Out of curiosity whats the story behind your member name?

I see from your location that your from Mass. I grew up on the North shore myself. Bostonblackie was my handle in the late 70's when CB's were the rage. I got the name from an old tv show that my Dad watched. It was in the day of three stations and black and white. Might have been on WBZ.
