The time has come, I must sadly announce my departure from the Explorer world. These last 8 years here have been great & I learned a lot being through two generations between my '07 limited & my '15 xlt as well as being able to share knowledge from my experiences. Unfortunately with my last one at 220,000 miles it just got to the point where it kept needing more work every time I turned around & I would soon be approaching the mileage where the looming fear and anxiety of having to do the water pump again would start. I am not saying good bye forever, I do see myself possibly getting back into an Explorer at some point down the road and popping in here from time to time as well as possibly posting some things up for sale as I clean out. I wish you all the best of luck with your Exploring!

Sorry to see a longtime member go. There is 4X life after Explorers. After owning 3, ('93. '94, '05) I loved those Exp's but I jumped over to a new '22 Bronco and solved some of the problems you describe. I'm told I can still go along on Explorer4x4 runs, so s'all good.

Best of luck to you as well!

Best of luck going forward. I hope to see you back here.:chug:

In April, my 2004 Mountaineer finally bit the dust at 341k, and I bought a 2025 Hyundai, first non-Ford since my 1986 Chevy Celebrity.

I'm still here.

Good luck. May Ford always be in your heart wherever you go

I do like the newer generation of Explorer's, but for a daily driver & living in an area prone to traffic I didn't want to go turbo which really limits options nowadays. Almost afraid to say it here lol, but I ended up with a 2020 GMC Acadia SLT with the 3.6. I like it better in almost every way over the '15 Explorer, but I will say its hard to beat the cushy seats in the 11-19's.

With that said I still have a Ford in my driveway with the 2012 Fusion which my wife usually drives, but we absolutely love it and plan to drive into the ground.

Sorry to see you go. Thanks for your contributions to the forum. Until we meet again.
