Good info for 98 to 01 X owners

I was reading in my recent Motor Trend and they did and article on 95-01 Pre-Owned X's. Lately I have been reading about people having problems with locks, windows, wipers, 4wd, and lights either all or some acting up. This apparently is a problem wiht those year vehicles and was a recall. The part that goes bad is the General Electronic Modules. Also I thought that only first gen X's had the 160 OHV motor. Motor Trend said this was an option on all 95-01 X's.

The OHV wasn't available in '01. But was in 91-00.

When I took my X in for the door lock problem, the Ford place checked for any recalls and didn't come up with anything for my truck. I did look on the net and couldn't find any either. Maybe MotorTrend can let me know so I can get my $300 back from Ford.

The GEM was recalled for the '98-'99's only. But they do get out of whack. Sometimes they only need to be reprogrammed.

The OHV was available in 2001 too.... XLS model. My friend has one.
