Sorry if this info has been posted before but i could not find it when i searched. My tranny has stared to slip again. I've had this problem before had it rebuilt and 2 years later it starts again. I've located a tranny out of a 98 ford explorer 4.0 ohv and am wondering if it is the same tranny in my 01 ford explorer sport 4.0 SOHC I know mine is the 5r55e but according to everything i read the 98 could be the 5r55e or the 4r55e. Any help would be appreciated before i make this investment or if i just keep looking. Thanks in advance.
Part 2 of this problem the 98 is 4x4 and mine is a 4x2 just read that they may have different output shafts, Any advise on this?
