Long story short a few weeks ago, I'm driving back from the mountains and suffer a blowout. Tires are super-old and I knew they were going to need replacing soon so I limp it into a discount tire, just a block or two away, nice! :) It's 5:55 and they are about to close. I want some bridgestone duelers but none in stock. Would love some BFG AT's, but they are freakin expensive.
So I go with Goodyear Wrangler RS-A's. Seem decent
I've noticed with them, at least I think its the tire, thats all I can figure that has changed... when I am driving on asphalt, they drive fine. Even flat concrete, seem to do pretty good. When I get on some concrete, the type with the grooves dug into it for water channeling or whatever, its like the tires try to follow the grooves and the explorer is going all over the road! i can't see what the tires are doing obviously but what it FEELS like they are doing is about to wobble off the explorer. But about 2500 miles and they are still doing the same thing. Lugs are tight. Properly inflated.
Anyone else noticed this phenomenon?
