1 is there a way toset a system so that the 4 main speakers would run off the hu and when you want hard hitting flip a switch and the amp to the mains and the amp to the sub turn on?

2 thinking this question i forgot the next one
i remember the question
if you dont have a factory sub do you have a factory amp?

Sure, it's possible, but it would be a lot of parts and a lot of wiring.

Why?

If you don't want hard hitting, keep the volume low....
when you want hard hitting, crank it up......

or...

Use an EQ and push the "Defeat" button to keep the level low.....reset it to hit hard.

ok i was trying to find a way to run my tunes while sitting and waiting for the ferry and the car off

It depends on your system. Are you running a factory hu or aftermarket? If you have an aftermarket hu with sub outputs you can easily turn the sub on or off from there. A passive equalizer can provide the same function.

yes it will be a aftermarket hu i've got and the amps are remote wired so i could put a switch on them. can the mains be dual power to have both the hu and a amp to the speaker with a diode to stop wrong way signals

Not sure how that would pan out. It sounds possible. You could also wire the door speakers to your HU and just use an amp for the subs.

I have a Kenwood EQ on mine, it has 9 different setting on it. I programmed them so each steps it up a notch. That might be your easiest option, I can go immediately from hardly any bass to all out nothin' but.

ok then i was just trying to find a way to run the mains while the car was off and still running the radio without running the battery out

i guess i will dual wire the main speakers in case i go with the amp

any word on the 2nd question
