Hey guys, this is my first post here, so excuse me if it's in the wrong place.

My sister just got a new truck, so she gave me her old 1992 Mazda Navajo for a winter beater. I'm under the inpression that the Navajo is basicly an Explorer with Mazda logos. Am i wrong here?

The problem is that there is a major coolant issue with the truck. I'm assumeing that it's a Head gasket, but don't know for sure. Are there any other commen issues with the 4.0 Liter engines that I should look at before I pull the heads? Is their a detailed head gasket replacement procedure online that I could take a look at?

Thanks
-Rob

wlecome to the site

yes the navajo is basically an explorer with differnet badges.....there are some small differences but none that would keep you from using this site to your advantage

there is a serach button you can use to search our vast archives. it is very handy.

Does the coolant leak out or does it dissapear, this is gonna be key in identifying your problem

welcome aboard once again

Navahos are basically re-decorated Explorers.....the grille, bumpers, and seats are the main things different....

Hey Rob! What's up man! :D

Thanks for the replies guys. Going off the information I got from my sister, it's loseing coolant, running rough, and blowing smoke. There is also coolant in the oil.
