I'm looking at a '97 w/auto tranny, 106K...Current owner says tranny on it's way out.
Long shift between 1st and 2nd, and the od doesn't work. He said the fluid is burnt. So, if I can get this thing cheap enough I'm just wondering what the tranny could run me if I grabbed a used one form the junkyard and installed it myself. It's 2wd, so this shouldn't be an incredibly difficult job to tackle on a weekend right?
Also, what are the chances that the tranny isn't shot and just needs a little love?
I haven't seen it in person or driven it yet, but the price could be low enough that I would by sight unseen.
