Got the wake up call at 3am Sunday morning from Chicago's finest. I thought it was a friend playing with me. The BMW hit me hard enough that I ended up with both rears WAY ON the grass and did some damage to the pickup in front of me. Several witnesses couldn't catch the plates but said the driver got out and looked at his car, got in, couldn't close his door fully and then high tailed it down the alley. I'm sure alcohol was involved at 2:15am.
There was significant transmission fluid from his car on the street. I sustained RR quarter panel, rear bumper, lift gate, FR quarter panel, front bumper damage. No tow needed though; I was able to drive it off the grass and park again.
So, unless they can find him I will eat the cost b/c collision in Chicago, even for a 13 yr old truck, wasn't justified. I've already started looking for a 99-01 4 door b/c I am pretty sure I am in the $2K range of repairs so it would be easier for me to take the loss since I've put roughly $3K into it in the last year alone. What a bummer....
