Hey there fellow explorer and ranger drivers

I got my explorer back from the service department today. I believe last week or something like that I posted a question about the check engine light coming on my explorer. Well I got it back today and it said they replaced my DPFE sensor and a circuit now my explorer is running back to normal again. I am so happy it feels like a champ again. I was wondering what is a DPFE sensor. So if anyone knows what that is comment me back.

Thanks

Sam

do a search for it.... been discussed tons of times......

basically a electronic device for the EGR system. Allows certain amount of combustion into the system depending on certain information. The problem with most ford DPFEs is that they were made of metal or aluminum, which would get heat from the exhaust pipes and then it would melt the insides.

it tells the computer how much flow the egr has the info is used to controll the egr opening
