Pulling the old catback off was the most time consuming....although 205k miles is bound to make any thing under the truck hard to work on...pretty much used a cut off wheel for everything. However, installation was simple of the new system, although my exhaust hangers for the muffler arent right, so i gotta figure out whats up with that. Other than that i sounds awesome! Nice deep grumble at start up and idle and gets a little throaty on acceleration. In cabin sound is very nice, no drone what so ever.

However, i kind od desire it to be a little louder/deeper, would removing the secondary cats do this for me??

Thanks!
Ryan

my torque monster headers will help

I;m sure they would, however spending $600 plus on just headers is not an option for me right now.....Didnt ford racing used to produce motorsport headers for these trucks?

They suck though. Not much better than stock.

I heard that for today only, those used headers the other guy is spamming threads with is asking only $200. I say go for it. Great deal. :p:

not bad, but i am a little worried what a night mare i might face trying to remove the stock manifolds off an 11 year old truck with 205k miles on it....

back to my original question, will deleteing my leaking rear cats help me ?

Was just kidding about the price.

My truck is 10 years old. Just had headers put on in July. :)

I researched this recently. The rear cats don't affect sound significantly on or off.

hmmmm.....did headers really make that big of a sound difference? when i put shorties on my mustang i didnt noticed much...

They definitely gave it a "different sound" and a bit throatier. Not much louder, but a more refined sound (if that makes sense). I get a lot of compliments on my setup, but I was going for "mellow". MAC are already on the more aggressive side of the sound equation on the 5.0.

TM Headers add 25 or so HP. That's why you really want them. :D

unfortunately my fiance is less than enthused about the new exhaust....lol

I had an aftermarket resonator on my setup before I got the headers put on. Within days of the headers getting put on, I ditched the resonator and it got a bit louder, inside and out. My wife blames it on the headers.

Overall, my setup isn't too bad. We've driven thousands of miles on numerous road trips as a family (I have a 4 year old son). No complaints any more about the exhaust. :)
