The new alpine iva d300 monitor with pulse touch technology

Ok quick review...still learning where everything is...prior to this i had a 9815 sq wise it actually sounds better which is weird because its only bass plus not pro even though i'm going to eventually get the pxa 701. sub out is stronger then the 9815, but i think alpine had some issues with that...touch control is awesome it actually works with the dvds whereas my old clarion 925 did not. Some have said that you really need to press on the screen for it to work but mine works flawless, other then that its just an awesome unit, it does tilt front and back and can extend about 1 inch further from the dash if nead be...one thing that is really freaking cool that i don't think any other unit can do is play a dvd as a video source but play xm or an auxially as an audio source...and that i love...as for price i got mine authorized from a local dealer for 1162.50 which is lower then any ebay price you'll see for right now...

pics can be seen at

You gotta love Alpine. My whole system is Alpine except for the speakers.

VERY nice unit, If I were to go w/ an in dash screen that would be the one I would pick, great price too!

VERY NICE..i have my eyes on that unit as well..but your right.. for now I'm jealous :smoke:

funny, i'm not jealous

it does look nice though

everything looks awesome... except for the Justin Timberlake song being played in one of the first few pictures... j/k

Was it hard to wire and install?

Looks good!

naw wiring wasn't that hard, but i originally had the wires running down the middle and i had to change that because they were now running to the processor box, other then that, i'm going to get nav at one point in time, just don't know when yet, and i'm fiberglassing it in soon too...need more money and time

Now it's time to invest in a better camera  J/K that thing is awesome!

well i had to lower the quality because a I was using a buddy s server and pic size was too big

question....does that thing rattle or move when you hit a bump? i always wondered about that with in-dash dvd players. how stable is that screen? can you move it with your hand(not that you would want to)? i just wouldn't want it shaking or making noises while driving down the road. thanks. oh, and by the way, sweet setup :smoke:

it pivots about an inch and a half back incase of a big bump

I was interested in the Alpine unit until I found the Pioneer AV-7500DVD.
I feel your pain though on the Clarion. I had that deck too and although I thought the touchscreen was cool, it left something to be desired.

Very cool & expensive?...

Very cool. Congrats.

But - Must be damn expensive!!

Also - please try not to crash while driving. I know I would have a hard time not freaking out in irritation and anger if anything with justin timberlake was playing in my explorer lol..
I would be tempted to drive into a street light or a wall just to stop the dvd player!

I have a quick question about your install, where did you end up mounting the brain box deal that all the connections go to? I just picked up a kenwood KVT-715DVD and i am trying to figure out where to mount the hide away unit .

under the passenger seat

did you bolt it to the floor or on the actual seat? I am mounting my radio in a 1998 2 door blazer and cant find a place for the brain anywhere I swear this truck has no hidden storage places! :D

try behind the glove box...but mine is just on the floor mounted through the carpet

I checked these out in :can:
Apparently, (by law) they won't go on unless the parking brake in on.
Is this how it is in the US?

It only makes sense to me -- too distracting for a driver...
