So I decided to go mudding in my explorer and I got stuck. Mine has no lift, has 255/70/r16 with the 4:10 open diff. The place I went was along the river, its a place that floods alone and the mudd is rlly deep. I have seen alot stuck there in lifted trucks but i went anyways. To my surprise I made it to the end and had to turn around, went back through the same way but got stuck in a hole. I went through it one the way it and it was deep and bottomed me out but i was going quick so it jumped back out. Not the same story when i went back, the driver side had bottomed out on the ground and the back bumper was almost on the ground. I almost got out but I would put in drive then reverse kinda fast and would pull up but slide back down and hit the ground. The tire in the hole and the one in front were the only two that would spin damn it other wise I could have got out. So I am wanting to see some recommendations on some cheap electronic lockers, I would like to lock the front and rear but only when i need it. Oh and I had a chevy come to pull me out but he got stuck before he got to me but another chevy came with 38's and he didnt wana drive through what i did so i was like wtf, but he went around and got me out.

So I am wanting to see some recommendations on some cheap electronic lockers.

Thats pretty much an oxymoron. Selectable lockers, air or electric, are super pricey. Your best bet would be getting an Aussie, or another lunchbox locker to throw into the rear diff. They are really street friendly, I can't even tell I have one for the most part. Also, they can be installed in your driveway with basic hand tools in an afternoon, unlike a selectable locker. Those are full carrier replacement lockers. You will need to have the gears setup by a shop (You can do it yourself, but it takes a lot of specialized tools and patience). Also not cheap. You can get an ARB air locker or a Eaton electric lockerand have it installed and set up for under a grand though. Or buy an Aussie for $300 and do it your self in a few hours.

well 300 sounds alot better, lol I was just wanting one in front but not for as much as ur talkin about.

I don't think anyone makes one for the front diff on 2nd gen X's. I keep hearing about someone getting one, or ordering one, etc. but I have yet to see anything . Pretty sure Gmanpaint has one he is getting ready to install up front though. But you can only do that with a CAD front diff (95 and 96 IIRC) and brown wire mod, since its a live axle. A lunchbox in the rear and some mud tires and you will be going places you wouldn't believe. All my X has is a 2" lift, 32" MTs and a rear locker, and I can do some level 4 trails (although not without body damage, lol)

yeah, I was watchin **** on youtube about lockers compared to open and limited diff when going up hill.

Lockers make the difference. After me a CJ on 37s couldn't make it up this because he had open diffs.

haha, that was pretty nice.

Awesome Elessar!!
