Got the 4.56s, locker and discs in, got a few questions and crazy ideas.

You've got an exact duplicate of your truck minus the gears, why don't you drive the few blocks and we'll burn some rubber! Btw, what are you doing up at 4 am? I thought i was the only night owl around here!

Hehe, A race it shall be Edward. Yeah, I got off work and JamminG4Jim called me and we yapped on the phone while I was working for about a half hour, so I had to get my Explorer fix before I crashed for the night. Still want those tires man?

Give me a holla friday homie and you can drop them off then. You said like 200 right? I am going to keep mine w/ rims. I am in no hurry to get yours on now that we have this white crap on the ground. Are your rims the bead lock? I was reading about those in the latest 4x4 and suv mag. and those are the kind of rims I want.

I've seen your truck around town alot and I think the only thing you need now is like a 7' antenna on the roof to top it off :D

Disassembly was easy because I used the c-clip eliminator. As a matter of fact, the axle shaft that was in there didn't even have the nub on there to attatch the c-clip. I felt this was best to make for easier trail repeairs. I am not sure what you mean about the c-clip eliminater and the pins in the locker. I don't see how the c-clip being there or not would effect anything if you sheered the pin.

Diff, what I am saying is I wouldn't use a C-clip eliminator, that doesn't matter, if you shear a pin the whole things gotta go, I guess if you busted that shaft, you would be better off with not having to get to the c clip. So c'mon, did ya ever shear the pins and have to replace it or not??????

What type of trail-fix is the frt cover going to help you do if you shear those pins? If you do end up shearing the pins then you might as well have a complete diff with you because it will more than likely destroy your cross-shaft and carrier. As far as cutting on the I-beam....I wouldn't..Some have said reinforce it but then your going to get into issues with mounting of the 3rd member itself if you do that....Not to mention that is one of the first things to hit when wheelin....I do agree with you though after having used both a Lockrite and a Truetrac in frt axles I would STRONGLY recommend the Truetrac if you like turning that is:rolleyes:

Sorry, I have never sheared the pin and I hope I never have that problem. A good mix of gas and brake should prevent that problem though and just remember to let off the gas if the front end comes off the ground. This will prevent things from breaking when it comes down and gets traction all of a sudden.

Dale- I am new to lockers, but I have researched and also go off of my buddy's experience running a lockrite in the front of his XJ. He has sheared the pins twice, these are ment to go so other stuff like shafts, etc, do not snap. They are set up as a safety and usually require a good deal of force to make them go. In his instance, he has to open it up, slide out the shafts, and install replacement pins and away he goes, I believe lockrite will send new pins for free if you do shear them. He has not damaged the carrier or diff at all.

Do you understand or are we confusing eachother?
And Like Diff said, I probably will never shear these if I use my head a little, but I seem to have chitty luck when wheeling and manage to bust stuff.
