I'm horrible when it comes to audio so help me a little with my setup. I'm just looking for some extra unf! in my system, little more power.

Blaupunkt Honolulu
Rockford Fosgate box w/ 2 8" woofers
Rockford Fosgate Punch 120a Amp

Anyone had good experience with the Blaupunkt brand or should I stick with Kenwood, Sony, etc.

Rockford is good from the reviews but will the 2 8"'s be enough and will the Amp handle those fine.

All those things combined equal about to $600 so if you have any other ideas on how to spend the money please mention them.

Thanks guys

Keith, if this is any help, my RF 150a2 handles my 2 10"s great.

I think the Blaupunkts are great. I think they tend to get a lot of heat because they don't have a lot of bells and whistles, and tend to sometimes have some gimmicky faceplates, but they're solid players. Also, if you wanted, you could go for a single 4 ohm 12" instead of two 8s. If they're from the same line of subs, the 12 will probably demand about the same box space as the 8s total, and you should be getting lower play, and more bass since you could bridge the amp, and get more surface area of cone, going by the basic Pi x R^2 calcs.

The very first car radio ever was a Blaupunkt, just thought i might add that =)

You picked a good brand. What kind of subs are you getting? The punches or xlc's?. Also where are you getting all this stuf from? If it's not off the net then you should take a look at some of these places.

Thats where i got all my stuff from. also remember that you have to get a wiring kit for you amp and a box for you sub's.

I haven't had any experience with Blaupunkt, I think they came stock in BMW's a while back so they can't be too bad. The 2 8" subs will produce more of a mid-bass sound, if you want sub-bass you need 10" or bigger. Even thou I heard a car with 2 8" Fosgates in Bazooka tubes and they were hitting hard but he had a 1000w alpine amp running them, when I seen him again they were gone, he change to 10" ?. So I would suggest geting a 10" single sub instead of 2 8" and go ahead with the rest and you should be ok. Unless you're not into heavy bass then the 8's will be fine.

Instead on 2 8"s go with a single 12" and bridge the amp. The box will be smaller and it'll sound so much better. Just a thought.
