Welcome to the forum! Fellow Tennesee member. How fast do you safley expect to go in an explorer?

i would think that that is a big time safety issue,, a 4x4 is taller than a normal truck or car , therefore top heavy, so the possibility of accident increases with speed,,
as for removing it,, i think some of the programmer companies, or computer chip vendors promise higher rev limiters,,

I wrapped my speedometer around. So...about 120?:dunno:

I also bought a tuner from Jah81592, great service. With a tuner, Xcal2 or Xcal3, you can remove/change speed and rev limiters.
Keep in mind that the limiter is there for a reason. The tires aren't rated for that speed for one. Another thing most people don't consider is how fast the drivetrain will be turning. The driveshafts aren't designed to handle super high speeds, and I wouldn't want to drop a driveshaft at 120mph. Also think about how a sport trac would handle a front tire blowout at 120.

It should be governed to 80mph, the truck is unstable during evasive manouvering at higher speeds.

BUY A SPORTS CAR or MOTORCYCLE if you need speed.

Agreed. Truck and SUV tires are not meant for high speeds either.
If you need to go that fast, buy a Mustang.

the rpm start to get real high around 75 and 90 is probly the upper limit since its so light( compared to other trucks)

Welcome,

According to your truck description you only have 2 doors which makes your truck a Sport not a Sport Trac.

I hope you enjoy your new truck and be safe always.
