gray lower bumper on newer x's

has anyone taken off the crappy plastic lower bupper of their 01 x sport? to me it just looks tacky as hell but i think it'd be alot kooler lookin with somethin else there just tryin to find ideas

i have seen some 2001 with a tubular front bumber with a skid plate, but to me the stock plastic looked better than that. it would be nice to find a steel replacement that still has the area that the plastic does.

i don't know if my bumper is the same as yours, but i have a 99 4 door, that had a gray plastic bumper, with the factory fog lights. i didn't like it, and it killed my approach angle, so i took it off. right now, i only have a hi-lift mounted up there, but tomorrow morning i will finish my skid plate and install it. if this sounds like the right bumper, let me know and i will send you some pics via email. also, i'm working on some designs for a winch bumper/brush guard for it. i should at least have a few designs for that done within the next month. hope this helps.

Sorry, i've been kind of lazy and not checked the site in a while. I haven't come up with any GOOD plans as of yet, but i am working on it. i'm mainly throwing together all the custom bumpers i've seen here. just taking what i like from each, and adding them all together. I just need to find someone in central VA that is willing to weld for a decent price, or for work or something. Does anyone want my stock bumper? it's not damaged at all, and still has the factory fog lights. I will send pics to those interested.
