Just joined and really looking forward to getting info on different things I can do to my truck. Kinda new to the 4X4 game but very interested!

Welcome mattvv! I haven't gotten the 4x4 mod bug yet, but I hear it's very contagious here... :D

Clock Spring

Does anyone know the process for R&R of the clock spring? I found the part # for it in other threads but no one had instructions of any kind to install it.

What's wrong with your Ex?

I hit the horn on some a-hole that pulled out in front of me and the horn only went off for a second or two then stopped. After that the horn didn't work and the cruise didn't work either. I talked to a buddy of mine and he said that it was the clock spring. I was on ebay and found one for about $40 new. I was a mechanic for 6 years until switching jobs resently. I just want to make sure there aren't any weird things I need to worry about before I go messing around with the airbag etc.

Thanks Joe,

Matt

Welcome!! This is a great site. 4X4's RULE!!!!!

Welcome to this forum! Disconnect the battery, and wait a minimum of 10 minutes before working on the steering column. You will need to pull off the steering wheel with a special puller. You could get one from Autozone through their tool loaner program. Everything is straight forward after you remove the wheel.

Cool!!

Thanks Brooklyn!!

Matt
