Have a 99 sport, 4.0 litre OHV, it seems that when it gets cold the problem re-occurs which is that the windows won't work, the wipers won't work, as well as the rear wiper. Talked to my mechanic about it and when I mentioned that I had been driving when the wipers wouldn't work and I tried turning the ignition key ( as if I where trying to start it ) the wipers would wipe once, if I wanted them to work again I would turn the key, he figured that it might be the ignition switch ( not the key one but the electronic part ) had that replaced, same problem. Anybody have any ideas! Thanx Don

How about the radio? Does it die too?

Maybe a bad ground connection? All of the above (windows, wipers, rear wiper) are controlled by the GEM. Maybe a bad ground to the GEM?

Nothing wrong with the radio, it's always the wipers, front and back and the windows, one time the interior lights didn't work but that didn't last very long. There's times when I would suspect the GEM but I don't have any real reason for that. I will probably replace the multi- switch soon just because it's cheap and it seems to be the culprit in some of the other guys' problems. thanx for the input.

Its probably not a gem problem... more likely a relay problem, accessory delay or battery saver.
