I have a 1996 Explorer AWD with 5.0V8. I have a metal on metal dry grinding noise coming from the front that I can feel through the steering wheel at all speeds, and a vibration that increases with speed. I have the typical clicking sound of bad CV joints when turning, and a dry squeek when going straight. Certain that I had one or both half shafts bad, I took the car to a chain store mechanic to have them replaced. After replacing both half shafts there is no change in sound or vibration. Suggestions??
