No popping but a grunt and vibration when turning left. At a stop it is the worst and gets better at higher speed. Nothing is rubbing. The lower ball joints are brand new.

It might be the spool valve in the rack. You can try flushing the P/S system and maybe adding some Lucas Power Steering Fix. That might help.

Alright, would that be something that would be an issue on only one direction? Also worth noting that it only started doing this after the new ball joints went in.

Check your cv boots sometimes they make wierd noises like a rubbing sound. Mines do that when turning left..

Is that normal though haha? The boots themselves look fine. I mean it produces a good vibration in the wheel.

I believe there are 2 spool valves in the rack. One for each direction.

If your getting a "good vibration in the steering wheel" you may have gotten air in the system while the ball joints were being changed. This happens any time the wheels are turned with the engine OFF. Very common, but usually effects turning right OR left.

Getting the air bled out can take a little while. Drive slowly turning the steering wheel from lock to lock about 6 times and see if it's any better.

I'd do this first.
