My 02 Limited has started making a groaning type noise when I accelerate from a stop while turning. The noise repeats a bit while I straighten the wheel after the turn. It does not happen when taking a curve at higher speeds or driving straight. I thought It was my 4x4 Auto kicking in so I pulled the #17 and #18 fuses under the hood. The noise didn't go away, so I'm beginning to think it's something else? Anyone have an Idea?

I'd say hub bearing is most likely the culprit. They often make a howling noise (like a deep lug tire) when on the way out. Search the forum, there's a vid of a mechanic in a shop doing one on a mountaineer.
