Ground Effects

Just purchased a 1991 XLT 4-door that has the typical rust in front of the rear wheel well in the rocker panels. Anyone out there have good suggestions as to some simple fixes. (I've been told just to get ground effects to cover the damage, but I have not been able to locate these items. I would rather make a more longer-lasting repair.

Well you could do what I did. Patch the dog legs (i built patch pannels out of sheet metal), bondo up the holes and herculiner it. I have the ground effects and they cover 97% of the patch.

Are there any kits that work well on a 95-98 Limited allowing you to keep the running boards?

Just curious what thight look like and if it is doable.

I removed the interior trim panels in the trunk area, removed all rust with a wire wheel, patched the damage with fiberglass and a little bondo. Check out my Rear wheel well rust repair thread.

I have a set of factory groud effects for sale from my 94 XLT. They are just the basic moulding that covers the rockers. I replaced them by putting my step boards on it.
