i have a 97 explorer v8 5.0 can anyone tell me if i have gt40 heads or can you tell me what the build date change over from gt40--gt40p

Simple way to tell.
Look at the passenger side exhaust manifold. If you see an EGR tube you have GT40P heads. If you do not see the a tube you have GT40 heads.
