I cut the coils on mine and I couldn't be any happier with it. It takes a lot of the bounciness and body roll out of your explorer. Best of all I dropped it more than a kit would and for only the price of getting the front and rear realigned.

with that ground force kit, do you have to get new shocks or anything else? or is it just get the springs, put them on, get an alignment and your good to go?

EVLSPL
that looks really good what size wheel are you running and do you have like a side shot

I find it hard to believe that your ride is better. I'm lowered with the ground force springs. Depending on your mileage, I would suggest getting some new shocks to go with it. I sure wish I would have. The ride quality in my X sucks. Going to be installing new shocks in the spring. You can see pics of my X here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=183506

wow your explorer is amazing i love how clean it is and after seeing the roof rack not on it mines coming off lol very nice

Anything special in alignment with the GF kit? any extra parts or is there usually enough play to make it work?

Not that coil cutting is the best way to lower a car (effective, yes; best, not generally), but out of interest, how many of coils did you need to cut to get it to sit like that?
Any issues with driveshaft clearance through the frame?
Any issues with the springs becoming "unseated" at maximum suspension extension (ie when you jack the car up to change a tyre or something)?.
How much lower than standard is it (looks like around 3.5" to me).

Sorry I missed this thread guys, I have been busy fooling around with forced induction ideas. On my drop I cut 3 coils out of the front and 4 out of the rear. It lowered the front around 2.75" and the rear 3.5". It has been like this for a while and I haven't had any problems with it. The tire/wheel size is 265/40/r22's.
