Had no sound, now I do, need help....

I had no sound at first, but then I figure it's probably because the internal amp in my JVC headunit is blown, which I believe so. So I take my old 25 watt Kicker amp and hooked it up, only to the front speakers, but when I turn it on the tuner, it has static, as soon as I switched over to the CD player it WHINED!!!!! louder than hell....just wondering if anyone's had this before.....it happened when I first hooked it up like this in my cougar but then went away when I finished hooking it up the way I had it.....which I can't remember how it was...but if you had this problem before and know how to correct it please help out, thanks!

thats a bunch of probs!!
1st check all connections from car to HU
2nd check all connections from amp to HU
3rd check all connections from amp to car

make sure and check PWR, and GND for the HU, and the PWR and GND for the amp, and finally maybe try replacing/checking your RCA cables
