My truck had been run really bad whenever I left off the gas and I never could figure out what it was. Well I was driving home from work today on the interstate going about 75. I had my cruise set so I didn't think anything of it. Then all the sudden I heard a loud bang and my truck started shaking like crazy. I thought, on no, my transmission just went out. So I pulled over and looked underneath and it look like it was still there. I got to looking around and I notice my rear driveshaft wasn't there. Yup, my u-joint decided to break while I was crusing on the interstate. So I had to disconnect what was left of it, lock the hubs in and drive home with front wheel drive. Today was not a good day. Of course this happens whenever I'm trying to save money for my Las Vegas trip at the end of the month. So I've got to get a new drive shaft cause this one is all busted up. Here's the damage.

dang.. sorry about that man. hope you get it worked out and still make it to vegas!!

Atleast you could still use it as a FWD. Us early control trac guys could do it w/o being jerked aorund:p

BTW- vegas is awsome. Its amazing how much stuff is crammed in there. I went with my family last summer and we journied to the grand canyon too. Hoover dam and all that. Although we couldn't take the damn tour b/c of security reasons, it was still cool.

You should be able to pick a new shaft up at a junk yard for pretty cheap, or heck look around in the For Sale forum and see if anyone is parting out their Ex.

Theres an older sport at a junk yard around my house, If you can't find one, I could run down and price it for you. Shipping might be a little bit, but its not to far to WV from where I am. We might be able to meet even.

Damn dude, that is some freaky stuff. At least it didn't cause your truck to go into some weird flips and rolls down the interstate and you made it home safe. How much would a used driveshaft from a junkyard run?

I'm not sure how much it's going to cost. I'm working today but my dad is going to call around and check. There's an all Ford junkyard about a half an hour away just in Ohio but I can't remember the name of it. I guess I'll find out what the damage is going to be today.

Travis, is there any way you could get me the name of that junk yard and its location? I need a couple parts for different Fords my family has. Dad needs a center cap for his lincoln, and my sister's Probe GT needs some interior trim that was missing when she bought it. Oh and we will have to get together sometime after you get back from Vegas. Oh, and have you tried Baldwin's? He's high but usually had everything you could need.

No I haven't tried Baldwin's, actually never heard of it. I've been to this all Ford place before. It's amazing, anything and everything you can think of. My brother has gotten serveral stuff from there including leaf springs and some odds and ends. I'll let you know whenever I find out the name of it and it's in Ohio right outside of Proctorville (I believe).

Okay, let me know and I'll make a trip. Baldwin's is in Sissonville. Its on top of a hill and he has acres upon acres of cars. He also has a large private collection of rare muscle cars that are all original. He loves to show em off too. Last time I was up there he was showing me his Grabber Green 70 Boss 302 that he was asking $30k for. Too rich for my blood, but I would love to have had it. He usually has anywhere from 20-25 cars kept in garages around the yard.

Highway carnage....dont see that very often. You were racing a Viper again werent you.

Haha no but I might be pretty soon. My best friend is selling is Corvette and getting a Viper, go figure. When he was 15 he got a 3000GT, 18 a Corvette and now's he's 22 and getting a Viper GTS. It must suck to be rich.

BTW, My drive shaft was in the middle of the median and I don't know how it didn't hit the car behind me.
