these arent explorer lights but ur looking for something like these?

-- dont waste ur time, not worth the 200-500 u could spend for them to crap out on u in a year.

your headlights are already circular in design yes? best bet would be to find a local shop that installs oracle or flashtech LED halos.
if u cant find any, but u have a spare set of lights laying around, i do install halos but im all the way in New Orleans. shipping isnt a problem with me it gets pricey to do so.
pm me if u have any questions/need help.

good luck.

Yea, i found a kit it is 199$ it's

But i want to paint the harness background black instead of silver/chrome like it is, here pic of my front

You aren't seriously going to pay 200 bucks for a few led strips are you?

theres these but there 182$

Im trying to find somethign with black background that will fit my 05 explorer.

Is there paint i can use to paint my stock ones??? I dont want to ghost the lens jus the inside.

yeah, any rattle can paint.. Krylon will work wonders. Bake off the lens in the oven.

i would use duplicolor, ive had best luck with it. scuff the chrome really good. spray and some adhesion promoter. and paint.

here is a set that we did on my friends truck. (duplicolor)

and the set on my ranger (actual automotive paint - not rattle can)

and yes those oracle rings are JUST rings, you have to install them in the housing or take them some where to install em.

but if u attempt to open ur lights, it really not hard to open just bake em for like 10 min.make sure all screws and clamps are out first and it should peel right open.
the hardest part is sealing it. make sure u have clamps that will hold it tight, and i would do one at a time, letting each seal and cure for 24 hrs.

Oven cleaner will also eat the chrome right off that plastic if you want to paint them. If you do get around to doing this, it might also be a good time to think about retrofitting your headlights to HID projectors.

Dam walker that truck l;ooks great!!!

Find, is there a write up on how to do thaat for my vehicle

Yeah, there are a couple threads on here about retrofitting HID projectors.

Here is what you want to do

Morimoto Minis are pretty much the easiest projector to retrofit in, and they don't cost a lot either.

Here is an easy one

Not exactly the same headlights you have, but meh. Pretty much the exact same procedure.

in a second gen

holy hell i like that last write up with the vacuum form!
thanks for that.

IDK but there is something about retrofits that i dont care for. only ever see one retro fit that i really liked and it was done by AAC down here in new orleans with crazy LED bulbs
100_1489.jpg

just something about replacing a large boxy housing with a circular projector doesnt look to good.

Just saying, but that LED retrofit you have pictured is illegal and probably doesn't make anything NEAR an appropriate beam pattern for use on roads.

how u figure they are illegal?
anyway, HIDs are illegal but everyone has em..
and ud be surprised at how bright they are, ive never been behind them but ive seen a couple bikes with them and the have an amazing output
especially since oracle/aac is a local company, ud be surprised at how often i see these.

and im not talking bout the concept strips, halos or the tower bulb. the little pods are supposedly LEDs; similar to that of audi's new headlights on the a6, a7, a8 and r8.
