well, my parents got me the 8000lb winch for christmas, but it hasn't come yet. will test it out and report back.

As long as we are updating this old thread, let me say that the BRAND NEW models of the Mile Marker winch are in stock now - (the 8000 and 9000 pound models) and they look good - come complete WITH a roller fairlead (packed in the original box - so don't let 4-wheel parts tell you that they are throwing in something extra) and sells for under $400. My cost on them is closer to $335 - so if you know a jobber, you can get a really good price.
