Hey guys. Latley I have been getting really bad hard spots in my steering. I picked up a bottle of Lucas Rack & Pinion lube for power steering. It says its suppose to stop hard steering and other good stuff. So I sucked out half of the PS Fluid at refilled it will the Lucas. It worked great for a few days than the hard steering came back with avengence. So i poped the cap and turn the wheel a bunch of times seeing if any air would come out. That didn't solve the problem. What is my next plan of action? Thanks -Jeff

I had a similar problem so a mechanic friend of the family looked at it and figured the steering fluid just needed to be changed. He had this special machine that changes the fluid and after that, I never had steering problems again. Not sure if that will help you but it worked for me.

My steering is really hard in spots of the rotation both left and right. It seems to be occuring in the same spot on both sides. But the firmness fluxuates from time to time. This starting occuring after i added Lucas rack and pinion to my power steering fluid. I pulled the cap, check the level, then rotated the steering a bunch of time to push any air out of the system. Nothing happened. Let me know if you guys have any other sugesstions.

I had my T bars torqued down for a couple of months before i got spindles and drop them down for a better ride. Could it be my inner or outer tie rods that got worn down from being at that bad angle for a long time? how can i find out/tell what a worn out tie rod end looks like?

Thanks,

Jeff
